Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozanda “Chilli” Thomas, the iconic duo TLC, are determined to reschedule their canceled shows following T-Boz’s recent diagnosis with a serious medical condition.
On Aug. 24, T-Boz, 54, took to Instagram to announce that she and Chilli would be canceling several shows following the group’s performance in Toledo, Ohio, on Aug. 22. The statement revealed that the revered singer had experienced “sudden and severe nausea, vomiting and intense abdominal cramps” after their Toledo appearance, which led to staff rushing her to a doctor to be evaluated.
She was diagnosed with abdominal blockage.
Medical officials diagnosed T-Boz with “abdominal blockage,” also known as an intestinal obstruction, which occurs when there’s a blockage in the intestines that prevents food, fluids, and gas from passing through, according to Mayo Clinic. This can happen in various parts of the digestive tract, including the small intestine or the large intestine. Doctors recommended that she cancel the group’s shows at the New York State Fair in Syracuse, New York, on Friday, Aug. 23, and a performance on Saturday, Aug. 24, at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut.
According to the press release, doctors kept the “Unpretty” hitmaker in the hospital overnight for a CT scan and an evaluation to “assess the severity of her condition.” She was expected to be released from the hospital on Aug. 25. The duo will return to the stage at a later date.
“TLC is committed to rescheduling the canceled shows and apologizes to all the fans, particularly those who traveled long distances to attend. The group appreciates the understanding and support,” the message read.
In the caption, T-Boz reassured fans that her health was on the “mend.”
“This Was Just One Of Those Unexpected Things That I Had No Control Over! I Look Forward To Making It Up 2 You All… And Hopefully, I’ll Get Out Of The Hospital Soon!!! As Soon As Tomorrow If All Goes Well!!! Thank You For Understanding… Blessings Always Tâ¤ï¸ #tboz #Tbeezy #TLC,” the star added.

This isn’t the first time T-Boz and Chilli have had to cancel a show recently. In May, they canceled their Canada tour after T-Boz and several tour staff members were hit hard by the flu.
“We deeply regret to inform you that we must cancel the upcoming date. Unfortunately, a few members of our tour, including T-Boz, have fallen ill with the flu. As a result, she has lost her voice. Doctors have advised her not to perform this week,” reps for the iconic group shared in a since-deleted Instagram post. The famous pair later returned to the stage to perform in Lincoln, California, in June.
