Erica Banks went through “hell” while recovering from her second Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), a procedure that involves liposuction to remove fat from various parts of the body, which is then injected into the buttocks to enhance its size and shape.
During an interview with B High TV on July 31, the “Buss It” rapper went into detail about her difficult procedure, noting that while she was “happy” with the results of her second surgery, she went through an “excruciating” recovery process.
“Probably the worst pain I’ve ever experienced in my whole life,” Banks told the hosts of B High TV at the 6:20 minute-mark of the interview. “The first day, I passed out…When I got back to the Airbnb, I was really hot…you lose a lot of blood.”
Banks was in pain for five months after her surgery.
Thankfully, the Texas native had her mother by her side to help with post-op care. However, Banks’ discomfort lasted for several months.
“The pain is just excruciating, you know because the inside of your body is like, brutalized, like, what the hell’s going on? You know what I’m saying? So, it took a while. I probably didn’t stop hurting all the way until, like, April. I got my surgery in December. I just stopped hurting in, like, April.”

Brazilian Butt Lifts can be dangerous.
BBL’s carry significant risks, making it a potentially dangerous procedure. One of the most serious risks is fat embolism, where fat particles can enter the bloodstream and travel to the lungs, heart, or brain, causing life-threatening complications. Additionally, as with any surgery, BBL carries risks of infection, bleeding, and adverse reactions to anesthesia. Prolonged inactivity after the procedure can also increase the risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), where blood clots form in the deep veins and can potentially travel to the lungs, resulting in a pulmonary embolism.
Postoperative care is essential for a successful recovery after a BBL. Patients need to adhere to specific instructions, such as avoiding sitting directly on the buttocks and wearing compression garments to minimize risks and achieve the best results. Additionally, according to the Virginia Facial Plastic Surgery website, maintaining a healthy diet, staying hydrated, and engaging in gentle movement are crucial for supporting the healing process and ensuring optimal outcomes.
During the interview, Banks admitted that she hasn’t consistently followed the recommended care for her BBL. The “Toot That” hitmaker shared that she exercised diligently for the first three months after her complete recovery to maintain her new physique, but soon reverted to an unhealthy diet.
“I eat Church’s Chicken like every other day… I like it that bad,” she chuckled.
