Joey Lawrence’s Alleged Adultry Partner Debunks The Allegations

Joey Lawrence’s rumored adultery partner, Melina Alves, is setting the record straight.

Alves, who was accused of having an affair with Lawrence, is denying all allegations, insisting that their relationship was purely platonic. The “Blossom” star’s alleged infidelity comes at a sensitive time, as he is currently in the midst of a divorce from his estranged wife, Samantha Cope.

Melina Alves maintains that there was no sexual involvement, aiming to put rumors to rest amid Joey Lawrence’s ongoing divorce.

After rumors surfaced suggesting an affair between the two, Alves took to social media to clarify the nature of their bond. 

The pair collaborated on the holiday film titled, “Socked In For Christmas,” in which Alves says they formed a meaningful connection due to shared experiences in their personal lives.

In her Instagram post, the actress shared that when she met Lawrence, she was “immediately struck by his kindness, warmth, and genuine character.” She emphasized that while their relationship grew deeper on set, it remained strictly platonic. 

Alves shut down any speculation of a romantic affair by pointing out that their bond “led to a strong, supportive friendship that has been a source of strength for both of us.”

Despite Alves’ public denial of any affair with Lawrence, her ex-husband, Edward Rider, might not be easily convinced. According to reports, Rider had accused Alves of committing adultery with Lawrence as part of their divorce proceedings in New Jersey. 

The Blast reported that he claimed to have discovered in March that the Brazilian-born star was having a sexual relationship with Lawrence in California at a time when both were still married to their respective partners.

However, Alces countered Rider’s claims, stating that she and her ex have been estranged since January 2023. She also noted that she has a temporary restraining order against him.

Meanwhile, sources close to Rider reportedly assert that the former couple were still living together earlier this year, contradicting Alves’ estrangement claims.

The father-of-three’s love life seems to follow a familiar script—first on-screen passion, then off-screen heartbreak. As allegations of an affair swirl, it is worth noting that Lawrence’s relationship with his estranged wife, Samantha Cope, also began on a movie set. 

The couple’s real-life romance sparked during the filming of the Lifetime movie “My Husband’s Secret Brother” in 2020, a thriller directed by the actor’s brother, Andrew.

Lawrence once described the experience as unique, confessing, “That was just very, very much out of the ordinary for me. I was her lover and also her killer (in the film).” 

While Lawrence is battling several controversies, The Blast noted that a source close to the star revealed that one thing in his personal life is going right. The insider noted that his co-parenting relationship with his first ex-wife, Chandie Yawn-Nelson, significantly improved.

This positive shift has benefited their two daughters, Charleston and Liberty, making family life smoother. “Once they split, things got exponentially better between him and his ex-wife and their girls,” the source shared.

While navigating the chaos, Lawrence reportedly remains steadfast in his faith and is doing his best to manage the upheaval with grace. However, he is “disappointed and upset at how all of this has turned out.” 

As the divorce proceedings unfold, Cope’s primary focus appears to be protecting her daughter and ensuring a stable environment for her upbringing. Cope officially filed for divorce from the father of her child after two years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences as the cause for their split. 

Interestingly, she is not seeking spousal support for either party, hoping to keep the financial aspects of their split simple.

However, when it comes to their 19-month-old daughter, the doting mother is taking a firmer stance. She requested full physical custody, allowing Lawrence limited visitation rights. 

According to the filing, Cope stipulated, “Once Dylan is 3 or older, Joey will have the option to take her for 2 nights in her home location if he is not working and can facilitate her visiting.”

As Joey Lawrence and Melina Alves face scrutiny over their rumored relationship, it is impossible to tell how these claims will affect the already complicated legal battle.
