Michael Madsen’s Domestic Violence Case Has Been Dismissed

Michael Madsen has been cleared of domestic violence charges after a recent case against him was dismissed.

The 66-year-old actor was accused of shoving his wife during an alleged brawl outside their Los Angeles home, but the allegations failed to hold up in court.

Michael Madsen’s representative previously claimed that he “confronted” his wife and “asked her to leave” after she allegedly broke into his home.

According to TMZ, Madsen’s domestic violence case, in which he was accused of getting physical with his wife, has been dismissed because of “insufficient evidence.”

“We are thrilled that Michael Madsen is able to put this behind him and look forward to our continued collaboration with more great things coming from this veteran and respected actor,” a representative for the actor told the news outlet.

Over the weekend, the “Reservoir Dogs” star was arrested for allegedly pushing his wife, DeAnna, and locking her outside their L.A. home.

She reportedly refused to receive medical attention after cops managed to settle things. Madsen posted a $20,000 bond before he was released from custody later that day.

“It was a disagreement between Michael and his wife, which we hope resolves positively for them both,” the actor’s team shared in a statement at the time.

Shortly after the incident, both parties came forward to share their sides of the story.

In a chat with The Hollywood Reporter about the incident, Madsen’s long-time attorney, Perry Wander, said that DeAnna “broke into” the actor’s Malibu home, and he “confronted” and “asked her to leave,” adding that the situation “has been an ongoing problem.”

“Michael has shown immense compassion and restraint during this period towards his estranged wife,” the lawyer noted. “He’s definitely not guilty of domestic violence.”

Meanwhile, the 64-year-old also broke her silence on the matter in a statement shared with the news outlet.

“Michael is struggling with his own personal issues. Myself and our children have been supporting him to the best of our ability. We would request privacy at this time,” she noted.

Madsen and DeAnna married in 1996 and share three children: Hudson, Luke, and Calvin. Unfortunately, their son Hudson died of a gunshot wound in 2022.

According to People Magazine, Hudson, who was 26 years old and a member of the U.S. Army at the time of his passing, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on the island of Oahu.

Madsen said that he was blindsided by Hudson’s death, noting that everything seemed fine when they spoke a few days before the incident happened.

“I am in shock as my son, whom I just spoke with a few days ago, said he was happy — my last text from him was ‘I love you, dad,'” the “Hell Ride” actor said in a statement shared with The Los Angeles Times at the time.

“I didn’t see any signs of depression. It’s so tragic and sad. I’m just trying to make sense of everything and understand what happened,” Madsen added.

Madsen further noted that his son “had typical life challenges that people have with finances, but he wanted a family.”

The actor said that “he was looking towards his future, so it’s mind-blowing. I just can’t grasp what happened.”

According to the Daily Mail, Madsen has requested that a full military investigation into his son’s death be carried out as he believes “the officers and rank and file were shaming” Hudson for wanting therapy.

He reportedly thinks that was what stopped his son from seeking help for mental health issues he had been keeping to himself.

Madsen’s short stint in jail isn’t the first time he’s had a brush with the law. He was arrested in 2019 for driving under the influence and in 2022 for allegedly trespassing at a luxury house in which he was evicted.

A source told the Daily Mail at the time, “Michael had been living at the house since last year, but the lease was in another person’s name.”

The house was leased out by another person, and thousands of dollars were owed in back rent. The owner then secured a court order for eviction, only to receive a call days later saying that someone was trying to break into the house. That someone turned out to be Madsen.

He was then transported to a hospital before he was taken back to the police station. His booking documents at the time showed that he was given a $500 citation for the charge.
