Wendy Williams made her first appearance in over a year while shopping at a holistic store in Newark, New Jersey. The media maven appeared cheerful and in high spirits during her fun outing.

According to Page Six, last week, the 60-year-old former radio host paid a visit to Bolingo Balance in Newark, a health store owned by Victor Bowman, the son of the late herbalist healer Dr. Sebi. In a picture shared to Bowman’s Facebook page Aug. 19, the star, who ended her iconic Wendy Williams Show in June 2022 due to health issues, smiled and appeared happy as she posed for a snap with Bowman, holding a few items from her haul.
Sources close to the Ask Wendy author informed the outlet that she was “sharp, upbeat, and very bubbly” during her store visit. She even took the time to sit down with Bowman to discuss some health products offered in his store. Her son, Kevin Hunter Jr., accompanied her as she shopped around. According to one Bolingo Balance employee, Williams was “engaging but wasn’t as familiar with what we do here, so her son was more explaining things.”
Here’s what Williams purchased at Bolingo Balance, according to an employee.
The employee revealed that Bowman gifted Williams a selection of holistic products, including iron-rich herbs like sarsaparilla, contribo, and batana oil, which are noted for their skin benefits. Williams also received capsules from Dr. Sebi’s son, known for their potential to support hormonal balance and mental wellness.
In 2019, Williams was diagnosed with lymphedema, a condition marked by swelling, typically in the arms or legs, due to an accumulation of lymph fluid. It occurs when the lymphatic system, which normally helps remove excess fluid and waste from tissues, becomes damaged or obstructed which can cause intense swelling, a sensation of heaviness or tightness, limited movement, and changes in the skin. Treatment usually involves a combination of compression garments, manual lymphatic drainage (a type of massage), exercise, and meticulous skin care to manage the condition effectively and improve circulation of the lymphatic system.
According to one store worker, Williams “talked about circulation improvement but didn’t want to get into too much detail on their first meeting and plans to come back in the near future.”
On Facebook, fans were happy to see Williams in good spirits since her last public outing. The last time the former daytime talk show host was seen in public, which was in March 2023, she donned a solemn look on her face, strolling back to her New York City apartment dressed in an all black ensemble.
“Wendy looks good,” one user said of the mother of one’s bright appearance. “Love this” another fan chimed in.
Williams has faced several health battles over the last year. In 2023, representatives for the former Hot 97 radio host revealed that she was diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Aphasia, a neurogenic language disorder, can occur following a traumatic brain injury or dementia. The condition can disrupt the left hemisphere of the brain, which is responsible for language and communication abilities, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association noted.
Most common in individuals post stroke, FTD is a form of brain disease that can drastically change the behavior, cognitive function, and personality of those affected.
We love to see Wendy Williams looking and feeling better!
