However, Ziegler’s true intentions soon surface. He approaches Oliver, demanding a favour in a high-stakes intellectual property case involving MKD Global and Simon Adderman. The judge’s ruling in Adderman’s favour signifies Ziegler’s leverage over Oliver, illustrating the dire consequences of their unholy alliance. Oliver’s realization that he is now beholden to Ziegler highlights the episode’s central theme: the inescapable consequences of making deals with the devil.
This episode masterfully portrayed Judge Garland’s descent into darkness, driven by grief and a misguided quest for justice.
