Former Jamaican soccer player Jorginho James has been released on bond after being accused of brutally assaulting his estranged wife Crystal James at their 2-year-old daughter’s daycare center.

According to an advocacy account on X (formerly Twitter) called HoodNation5, this is reportedly the second time he has allegedly assaulted his wife and it reportedly occurred while James was already out on bond following an initial alleged attack on his wife in March.
On Tuesday (September 10), the X account shared a video of James allegedly brutally assaulting his wife for a second time, with their daughter present and clearly watching. Narrating the video, a HoodNation operator shares Crystal James’ story and her call for help after her 30-year-old estranged husband allegedly attacked her again, got arrested again, and got released on bond again.

Jorginho James’ wife said her husband is a coach for a soccer academy, and has previously played for Jamaica’s national soccer team, the Reggae Boyz, Texas’ baseball team, the Houston Dynamo FC, and other sports teams. The wife said in March 2024, James allegedly strangled her with his belt, was arrested, and let out on bond.
She said upon his release, she was granted a restraining order and that he was ordered to wear an ankle monitor. However, she alleged that on August 30, her estranged husband violated his bond conditions and protective order to physically assault her again. She said while inside their daughter’s daycare center in Friendswood, Texas, he brutally attacked her on video, punching her at least 8 times.

The alleged incident left her with a concussion, a broken hand, and a broken finger, possibly needing surgery if it doesn’t heal on its own. She continued to list other injuries like a swollen face, bruised back, and bruised arms. James allegedly fled the scene in his car, with police later arresting him in another city.
According to his estranged wife, Jorginho James is facing two new charges: felony violating a protective order or bond conditions and a misdemeanor assault. FOX 26 Houston reports that the D.A. filed to deny bond in the second incident, but it was still set at $20,000 in the 174th District Court. James was released on Monday (September 9). His wife said she received an automated call detailing that her estranged husband, whom she has a protective order against, was released on bond for a second time after a second alleged assault.

In her letter, read by the HoodNation operator, Jorginho James’ wife Crystal James wrote, “If anything happens to me, it was him. I need help. He has a lot of people helping him because they don’t know how bad the abuse is. If I don’t speak up, something’s going to happen to me. I am very much afraid.”
Speaking with Fox 26 Houston, the wife said their daughter is also severely suffering and experiencing nightmares while crying in her sleep. The wife wishes for her estranged husband to stay away and focus on bettering himself for his daughter in the future. FOX 26 Houston reported that Jorginho James shared a statement claiming, “It’s not the right time for me to explain anything.”
