Lauren London Opens Up About How She Met Nipsey Hussle
As mentioned, fans particularly enjoyed Lauren’s candid recollection of how she met the late Nipsey Hussle and formed a beautiful relationship with him. While talking to Radhi, Lauren recalled being on a set in Los Angeles when Nipsey’s ‘Crenshaw’ mixtape dropped. The ‘ATL’ star noted that all the women on the set were listening to it.
“They were all from L.A. We were in L.A. on this shooting. I was like, ‘It would be really cool if I got them his mixtape and all like, you know, the Crenshaw stuff,’” Lauren said.
Lauren then decided to ask her friend Danny if he knew Nipsey because she wanted a discount on his mixtapes and merchandise for a bulk purchase.
“So Nip never reached out. His manager then reached out to my friend. I didn’t get the discount, either. So I was like, oh, okay! I guess he’s not trying to give me it, it’s fine. And so then, I bought the stuff, gave the girls their rap gifts. I end up following him on… Maybe it was Twitter? Or… At the time, it was Twitter. I don’t know, I don’t remember. Instagram, maybe,” London continued.
The ‘You People’ actress then explained that Nip slid into her DMs to thank her for her support and told her he would send a personal box of his merchandise.
“Then he gave me his number. So then I text him, because I was like, I don’t do DMs. Yeah, I thought he was fine. First of all, me following him, I was like… He took the bait. I always thought he was very attractive. I actually had friends that knew him that were like, I think you guys would get along years before that. But, you know, I was just on my, like, single mom stuff,” Lauren concluded.
More Details On Lauren & Nip’s Love Story
Lauren London’s latest interview appears to follow the fifth anniversary of Nipsey Hussle’s death and what would have been his 39th birthday. On March 31, 2019, Nipsey’s fans were devastated when he was killed outside his Marathon Clothing store in South Los Angeles.
Five years later, Lauren London, his partner and mother of his son Kross, still keeps his name and legacy alive. As TSR previously reported, in March, Lauren reminisced and honored Nipsey on the anniversary of his passing. London shared a single photo of him on Instagram to pay tribute and mentioned in her caption that his death still deeply affects her.
“If you know me, you know March is always tough for me. 31 days of holding my breath. This day decided to fall on Easter Sunday this 2024. Interesting….considering your name. Energy never dies…I love you. Eternal,” Lauren wrote.
