Tal’s determination to uncover the truth led him to Alma, who revealed that Addison was initially supposed to fulfill the arrangements but consistently resisted, believing Tal to be the strongest sibling. The chess pawns, marked with the date August 31, 2003—the day Abby died—added another layer of complexity to the narrative.
Meanwhile, Mariah discovered a letter about the Abigail Garland memorial fund, and the siblings realized they were being watched.
