Miguel Angel Aguilar, a well known fitness influencer and the creator of a popular gym franchise, was shot in what appears to be an attempted robbery as he returned to his home. According to TMZ, a group of men followed him to his residence before the incident occurred.
The incident took place at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Friday, close to Aguilar’s residence in Bel Air. As reported by TMZ, a group of four men trailed him to his home. The Los Angeles Police Department informed FOX 11 that the men confronted Aguilar, demanded his belongings, and opened fire. According to TMZ, their primary target was Aguilar’s Rolex watch. Emergency medical personnel quickly transported Aguilar to the hospital, where he is currently in critical condition, as stated by the LAPD.

Aguilar is the visionary behind the Self Made Training Facility, a gym franchise with over 25 locations nationwide. The company operates out of its headquarters in Temecula.
On Saturday, the SMTF team took to their official Instagram account to confirm the news of the shooting.

According to TMZ, Aguilar is a married man and has two daughters. Meanwhile, law enforcement continues to hunt for the four individuals involved in the incident.
