There have been reports that Marvel Studios is currently developing a solo Scarlet Witch movie with WandaVision and Agatha All Along producer and writer, Jac Schaeffer set to write and direct the film.
It was also reported that she is working on the script with Megan McDonnell (Captain Marvel) and that Elizabeth Olsen will return to reprise her role.
During the Agatha All Along screening event, Variety caught up with Schaeffer and asked about the movie, and she said that she is keeping her “fingers crossed” for the Wanda-focused feature.
When asked about not being able to discuss anything regarding the project with the press, Schaeffer laughed and replied: “Not right now!”
While Marvel Studios has yet to confirm this project, I’d bet on it happening. Scarlet Witch is just such an interesting and compelling character to play with in the MCU and I’d personally like to see her story continue.
The last time we saw Scarlet Witch was in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, when she went on a multiverse killing spree. She seemingly died at the end of the film by destroying every copy of the Darkhold and bringing a mountain down on top of herself.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we see her show up in the Vision series and that whatever happens in that show could lead to the solo film, but that’s just all speculation on my part.
Elizabeth Olsen recently said that she would be happy to come back and play the character again, saying: “It’s a character that I love going back to when there’s a way to use her well, and I think I have been lucky that when I started I was used well.
“I think people didn’t know what to do with me for a second there… if there’s a good way to use her I’m always happy to come back.”
What do you think? Would you like to see the story of Scarlet Witch continue?
