Diddy’s efforts to secure his release from jail have encountered a setback. After showing up in court this morning to challenge a judge’s decision denying him bail, he is now returning to the detention facility.
The rap mogul appeared at a federal courthouse in New York City on Wednesday, where his sons, King and Justin, showed their support for him. However, the judge ultimately ruled against granting Diddy bail.

U.S. District Judge Andrew Carter, after listening to the attorneys’ arguments, announced that he was denying the bail request.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Emily Johnson brought up the wild parties that Diddy allegedly organized, stating that he recorded individuals engaging in sexual activities with male escorts, partly for the purpose of blackmail. She asserted that the victims have accused him of drugging them and using the footage he recorded to extort them. Diddy has strongly refuted these allegations.
She stated that one incident took place on March 5, 2016, when Diddy allegedly attempted to force a woman into having sex with an escort. Following this, she claims he pursued the escort while only wearing a towel, which seemingly references the viral video of Diddy confronting Cassie.
The prosecutor argued that this alleged encounter with Cassie demonstrates that Diddy cannot be trusted, asserting that the six sex workers they have identified in connection with the case are merely the “tip of the iceberg.”

Johnson also made allegations regarding a series of retaliatory actions, claiming that victims had their heads slammed against car windows to coerce them into participating.
AUSA Johnson emphasized that the state is concerned about the firearms they reportedly discovered with their serial numbers erased, stating that this issue pertains not to security, but to “dangerousness.” She argued that Diddy should not be granted bail, citing his alleged attempts to contact individuals connected to the case multiple times, including reaching out to singer Dawn Harper approximately 128 times.
The star, currently incarcerated at MDC Brooklyn—a facility that has housed several infamous celebrities—submitted his bail appeal in writing earlier today. In his proposal, he requested to be released to his Miami residence, with the stipulation that he would significantly limit the individuals permitted to visit him.
