Will Eleven Die at the End of ‘Stranger Things’?

Ryan Coogler, who is best known for directing great movies starring Michael B. Jordon (Fruitvale Station, Creed, Black Panther 1 & 2), is continuing his streak with the upcoming mysterious period vampire movie, which he has kept very secret. Photos surfaced from the film’s shoot back in the spring, offering us a first look at Jordan and the set, which confirmed the story is set in the 1930s.

Now, new rumors have surfaced, which claim to reveal the movie’s title, as well as its first details. According to reliable industry scooper Daniel Richtman (via CBM), the movie is titled Sinners. He also gave fans the first logline, and it seems to confirm that the previous rumor that star Jordan will play twin brothers was accurate. It reads:

“Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers (Jordan) return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.”

Back when this project was first announced, it was said to be so top secret that “executives and buyers were forced to make the pilgrimage to the Beverly Hills offices of WME, the agency that represents Coogler and star Michael B. Jordan, in order to take a gander at the script,” but some details have since leaked.

The film was initially described as a “genre feature,” with a “period element to the story,” and we’d later learn that it was actually going to be set in Jim Crow-era South and possibly involve both vampires and Southern supernatural traditions. This definitely has a Lovecraftian-vibe to it, and I am into it.

Hailee Steinfeld (Hawkeye, Dickinson) recently signed on in an undisclosed role, joining previously-announced cast members Wunmi Mosaku, Delroy Lindo and Jack O’Connell.

Mosaku is said to be playing Jordan’s love-interest (which twin remains to be seen), while O’Connell is believed to have been cast as a “racist antagonist.”

Coogler also penned the script and is on board as lead producer along with Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian.

Coogler is also currently working on the Marvel TV project Eyes of Wakanda, and will eventually make the third Black Panther movie. I look forward to seeing this film as well as each of the other projects he has in mind.
