Cat Glover who was mostly known to work with Prince in the 1980s has passed away.
Releasing a short statement about her passing on Tuesday on her official Facebook page, the family uploaded a photo of Glover sitting on the floor smiling up at the camera.

“It’s with great sadness that we formally announce the passing of Catherine Vernice Glover- AKA ‘Cat,’ the statement began. “Please allow her children, family and friends privacy at this difficult time.”
The family did not reveal a cause of death but said, “A further statement will be released in due course. Dance with the Angels, we love you.”
Glover’s career has been attached to Prince’s since the late ’80s as the two have worked together on his projects like Sign o’ the Times and Lovesexy. Cat’s career first propelled after she went on a talent show with Patrick Allen. The two became a dancing duo and won the Star Search competition seven out of eight times, which was enough to get some buzz around her name.
In 2020, she did an interview with Classic Pop where she explained how being on Star Search led her to meeting the seven-time Grammy Award-winning artist. Recounting the moments she said, “I had actually run in to him a few times – I remember when he was touring Dirty Mind, I was getting into an elevator at a Holiday Inn in Los Angeles just as he was getting out of it.
“But I was on a television show called Star Search – and that is where I made friends with a young dancer called Devin DeVasquez, who went on to work for Playboy. One night she called me and said, ‘Hey, there’s a little dinner going at Prince’s place and if you want you can come with me.’”
But dancing wasn’t her only skill, she was also known to sing and rap. She even laid a verse on Prince’s song “Alphabet St.,” which happens to be the second track on the1988 album Lovesexy.

The next year, she quit Prince’s band to put out her own album Catwoman.
Glover was 60 at the time of her death and is remembered by her son Tony Glover, who wrote a message to her fans in the comments of the statement post.
“Thank you all for your condolences,” he said. My mom loved all her fans. Now she’s resting in peace. I am in so much shock right now i dont know how to feel. I know i love her and i’ll miss her.”
