It’s no secret that when Marvel was shooting the first Iron Man film there was no completed script and director Jon Favreau was pretty much winging it while making the movie.

That way of making movies is something that became commonplace at the studio and while Iron Man turned out great in the end, it’s not the most effective way to make a movie.

Jeff Bridges recently talked about his frustration with the production during an interview with Happy Sad Confused podcast, and he also talked about the original plans for his character, Obadiah Stane.

Bridges said: “I remember being so frustrated, as an actor. I like to be prepared. I like to know my lines. I finally made this little adjustment that made all the difference. It was, ‘Jeff, relax, you’re making a $200 million student film with these great guys. Have fun and relax!’”

Yeah! That’s exactly what Iron Man was! It was a $200 million dollar student film, and it ended up being a huge hit with fans and audiences.

The actor also revealed that his character Obadiah Stane was originally supposed to survive at the end of the film.

He said: “When I read the script, Obadiah Stane falls in that big vat at the end. And in the script I read and agreed to do, they pull my suit out and open it and I’m not there. But who knows? It’s all science fiction and I could pop up again.”

It would actually be awesome in Obadiah showed up again one day in the MCU! That would be wild! But, I have no idea if that’s something Marvel Studios has even really considered.

Now, there has been rumor floating around that Alden Ehrenreich (Solo: A Star Wars Story) is set to play his son, Ezekiel Stane, in the upcoming Ironheart Disney+ series, but that has yet to be seen.
