Tia Mowry Responds To Curiosity About Relationship With Tamara

“Sister, Sister” star Tia Mowry wants fans to know the bond she shares with her sister Tamara is still tight!

The now-47-year-old former 1990s teen idol recently spoke out about the current state of the relationship between the “Seventeen Again” actresses, and based upon what she had to say, social media users began to wonder if there is bad blood boiling between the sisters.

Mowry has been gearing up to take fans and curious viewers along with her as she explores her life post-divorce in an upcoming docuseries called “Tia Mowry: My Next Act,” which will air on We TV. A recent trailer for the series featured the actress’ comments on her relationship with Tamara.

A recent preview of Tia Mowry: My Next Act features the actress opening up about her divorce from Corey Hardrict, the father of her two children, 13-year-old son Cree, and six-year-old daughter Cairo. The “Family Reunion” actress is also seen celebrating a new job and reacting to a viral awkward moment wherein she and Hardrict share a one-armed hug.

However, Tamara is absent from this particular preview.

The internet collectively raised an eyebrow recently after Tia publicly discussed the sisters’ relationship. In a separate trailer, Tia revealed she and Tamara aren’t quite as close as she wishes.

According to Us Weekly, Tia continued, “[I wish] I could pick up the phone and call her, but that’s just not where we’re at right now.”

Nostalgic 1990’s fans can breathe a sigh of relief: Tia and her sister are not beefing!

Tia clarified her statement to the aforementioned publication on Monday. She said, “You could hear it from me, and this is basically what I was insinuating: I feel like as we grow up, we all start our own families and their children need to lean on them. We begin to take on new roles and responsibilities within our lives…”

Tia continued, “In these transitions in life, sometimes you just want a hug and you just want someone to be as accessible as they used to be, and that’s not the case. It’s called life…”

One might call Tia an “old pro” when it comes to knowing how to navigate the rumor mill!

Even though Tia may be about to embark on a new ‘chapter’ in life and the entertainment industry, she knows fans are curious about what could be going on behind the scenes with Tamara.

She continued to Us Weekly, “When you’ve been in this industry for over 30 years, things are always taken out of context and it is what it is. But the only thing that I can do is control my behaviors and be the best person that I could possibly be. And that’s what both of us are. And we are incredible, inspiring examples, and we have been that all our lives. So, why change that now?”

The mother-of-two also called the speculation “not surprising.”

Bringing cameras into her private life isn’t Tia’s first foray into sharing her life with her fans. The “Instant Mom” actress has also documented life on a regular basis for her social media followers.

In an Instagram montage last spring, Tia said, “Recovering from a divorce feels like a whirlwind journey. I found that through the process, divorce isn’t a place where we arrive, it’s entering a new chapter of life with many nuances, and no one-size-fits-all handbook,” per The Blast.
