Artem Chigvintsev offered a series of statements on his Instagram Story on Wednesday after domestic violence charges against him were dropped.
Amid his split from Nikki Garcia, 40, who was never officially named in the case, the 42-year-old Dancing With the Stars pro declared that the “truth has prevailed” as Nikki’s twin sister, Brie Garcia, 40, seemingly shaded him with a cryptic post and an insider shared Nikki’s reaction to Artem’s request for spousal support.
“I am incredibly relieved and grateful that the domestic violence charges against me have been dropped. This has been an extremely difficult time for me. I am thankful that the truth has prevailed,” Artem wrote in the first of four messages shared on September 25.
“My focus has always been and will always be, our son Matteo,” he continued. “He is my world, and being his father is the greatest blessing in my life. All along, my main concern has been for him. I am committed to continuing to provide him with the love, support, and care he needs as we move forward.”
Artem then addressed his request for joint custody of four-year-old Matteo, saying, “I am hopeful that securing an equal custody arrangement will help us move on.”
Artem went on to thank his supporters for standing by him during this “challenging time,” saying he was thankful they “saw the truth.”
“I look forward to moving past this chapter and focusing on what truly matters — continue being the best father I can be,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, on the Instagram Story of Brie, she posted a message initially shared by the Narcissistic Personality Disorder Mother Facebook Resource Page.
“The truth always comes out in the end, no matter how hard anyone tries to hide it or stop it. Lies are just a temporary delay to the inevitable,” the message warned.
As Artem and Nikki prepare to end their two-year marriage, an insider claims Nikki is “furious” with Artem’s request for spousal support.
“Nikki is absolutely furious that Artem is asking for spousal support. She’s still in shock and has been asking herself, ‘Who the hell did I marry?’” the source told Life & Style on September 19. “She’s dumbfounded by Artem’s audacity and lack of shame.”
Nikki “plans on fighting back. She hopes a judge, if it actually comes to that, sees right through his disgusting and exploitative cash grab,” the insider continued. “Even if he wasn’t asked back to be on Dancing With the Stars, she thinks he would still have asked her for spousal support. After what he’s done to Nikki, it’s a slap in the face and a total loser move on his part.”
Artem and Nikki wed in August 2022 after meeting in 2017 on the set of DWTS season 25.
