Diddy Is Reportedly Eating Normal Jail Food Despite Poison Rumors

Sean “Diddy” Combs has shut down rumors of potential threats to his life after reports claimed he stopped eating in jail due to the fear of being poisoned.

As the hip-hop music mogul awaits trial for his sex trafficking and racketeering charges, Diddy is being remanded in the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center, a correctional facility that has gained notoriety for being dangerous.

A source recently disclosed that Sean “Diddy” Combs doesn’t get preferential treatment in jail and has had to do with a very tight and uncomfortable routine.

Speculations were rife that the “Bad Boy For Life” rapper had stopped eating prison food because he was paranoid that someone might want to poison him. However, according to TMZ, Diddy is, in fact, eating well and is not afraid of the food he is being fed in jail.

A source close to the embattled entertainer told the news outlet that he’s “eating normal jailhouse food like any other inmate,” adding that he “receives no special treatment.”

Diddy is currently staying at the notorious correctional facility as he awaits his trial.

Last week, he asked for bail, offering a huge $50 million package for his freedom; however, two judges denied his request, with one noting that he was a flight risk and might resort to confronting witnesses.

The rapper was arrested on September 16 just outside the Hyatt hotel in Manhattan by Homeland Security agents following a grand jury indictment.

Shortly after, authorities released a 14-page indictment against him where they accused him of “creating a criminal enterprise whose members and associates engaged in … sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery and obstruction of justice.”

At the time, his attorney, Marc Agnifilo, filed a bail petition asking the judge to transfer him to a prison in Essex County in New Jersey, citing safety concerns. The Bureau of Prisons has now been left to decide whether Diddy would be transferred.

According to the Daily Beast, Agnifilo noted that some other courts “have recognized that the conditions at Metropolitan Detention Center are not fit for pre-trial detention” and brought a murder case that happened earlier this summer.

However, Assistant U.S. Attorney Emily Johnson maintained that he posed a serious security threat, adding that the unregistered firearms authorities confiscated at his L.A. and Miami mansions weren’t about security but “dangerousness.”

Upon hearing arguments from both sides, U.S. District Judge Andrew Carter turned down the bail request because “the government has proven the defendant is a danger. The bail package is insufficient even on risk of flight.”

Meanwhile,  Diddy is expected to take the stand and defend himself in his criminal case.

His lawyer told TMZ that the rapper is in the best position to defend himself as his story involves “love,” “hurt,” and “heartbreak.”

Agnifilo, however, acknowledged that the move is a major gamble, as it would open him up to serious questioning by prosecutors.

“He has his story, and he has a story that I think only he can tell in the way he can tell it in real-time,” Agnifilo said, per The Mirror. “And it’s a human story. It’s a story of, of, of love. It’s a story of hurt. It’s a story of heartbreak.”

The lawyer continued, “I mean, when he describes that relationship, the word he uses more than any other word is heartbreak. He was heartbroken; she was heartbroken.”

In a recent chat with Variety, 50 Cent, who has a long-standing beef with Diddy, shared some details about his upcoming Netflix docuseries, which will spotlight allegations made against the disgraced rapper.

“This is a story with significant human impact,” 50 Cent told the publication. “It is a complex narrative spanning decades, not just the headlines or clips seen so far.”

The rapper continued, “We remain steadfast in our commitment to give a voice to the voiceless and to present authentic and nuanced perspectives. While the allegations are disturbing, we urge all to remember that Sean Combs’ story is not the full story of hip-hop and its culture.”

50 Cent concluded: “We aim to ensure that individual actions do not overshadow the culture’s broader contributions.”
