Wu-Tang Clan’s ‘Saga Continues’ In Vegas For Two More Shows

Iconic Wu-Tang Clan is once again taking the stage in Las Vegas to entertain fans old and new this weekend.

The last two shows of their 2024 Vegas Residency at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas are Friday, Sept. 27, and Saturday, Sept. 28, and promise to bring concert-goers to their feet with their amazing setlist.

Wu-Tang Clan is one of the most influential and legendary hip-hop groups of all time. Known for their raw sound and groundbreaking style that revolutionized rap music in the 90s, the nine-member group is getting ready to hit the stage at The Theater in Virgin Hotels Las Vegas on Friday and Saturday night for the final two shows of their 2024 Vegas residency.

“We’re pure entertainers. We’re definitely like pure, pure entertainers. You come on stage, you know, we’re going to give you a good show, good energy, and good old-fashioned entertainment,” U-God said after rehearsing the show on Thursday night.

“We’re like the modern-day Rat Pack, Sinatra, Sammy Davis, all the guys who came here before us. We stand on the shoulders of the great ones so we continue on the legacy of entertainment in hip-hop.”

The group was formed in 1992 in Staten Island and originally consisted of nine members – RZA, GZA, Method Man, Ghostface Killah, U-God, Raekwon, Inspectah Deck, Masta Killa, and Ol’ Dirty Bastard (who passed away in 2004.) ODB’s son, YDB, is now the newest part of the group, following in his iconic father’s footsteps.

YDB said it’s been a “unique experience” for him.

“It’s a unique experience, and being with the brothers, I’m the youngster, this is actually the first hip-hop residency for hip-hop,” YDB said. “Wu-Tang sparked it, sparked a flame. I’m the youngest to be in the game on that level. So, me just doing this, I’m just trying to be modest and humble and take my time in the bushes.”

The group’s debut album, “Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)” dropped in 1993, making it more than 30 years old. They introduced their unique sound that incorporated streetwise lyrics, rugged beats, and martial arts samples, in themes that focused on loyalty, brotherhood, survival, and street life, with vivid storytelling.

And while the group is a collective, they also have their own things going on, as well.

“That’s what makes Wu-Tang what Wu-Tang is,” U-God said. “We’re all individuals, we all have our unique styles, but we’re all a family at the same time. Togetherness, you know, is the uniqueness that everyone recognizes that makes us who we are.”

When asked to describe Wu-Tang to newer fans, they said they are “pure entertainers.”

During their Las Vegas Residency shows, Wu-Tang Clan has a special tribute to some of the iconic artists we lost along the way, including ODB, Tupac, and Notorious B.I.G.

“Those are our people. Those are good friends that’s up on there that passed away. We ain’t just saluting,” U-God said. “We’re like the dinosaurs that are still standing, and we gotta give tribute to the brothers. That’s just how we grew up. That’s part of our culture.”

Concluding The Blast’s time with the members of Wu-Tang Clan Thursday evening, they shared a message for the fans.

“If you want to see real performances with dope lyrics, hard beats, and brothers giving their all and making the sun shine in the dark, bringing light to the darkness, come see Wu-Tang Clan, baby. We put a show on for your a–, boy we go down.”

There’s still time to get tickets for Friday and Saturday night’s shows at The Theater in Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. And if you miss out this weekend, Wu-Tang is hoping to return next year for another residency.
