Actress Tia Mowry is opening up about motherhood and life after divorce from actor Cory Hardrict, revealing she’s in a “new chapter,” which sees her being “a better mother” to their two children.

On Wednesday (October 2), the ‘Sister, Sister’ star appeared as a guest on ‘Today with Hoda and Jenna,’ where she got vulnerable about her divorce from Hardrict. She also briefly commented on her journey as a single mother to their two kids: son, Cree, 13, and daughter Cairo, 6.
As a refresher, Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict first met back in 1999 and in 2008 they tied the knot. In October 2022, they announced the end of their 14-year marriage and in April 2023 their divorce was finalized. During her ‘TODAY’ interview, Tia Mowry was asked about what she has learned since ending her marriage to Cory Hardrict.

She replied, “The one thing that has stood out for me is that change will always win. Change is constant. As you create boundaries, your circle gets smaller. When you are living in the present, that’s where the magic happens. There is peace. There is gratitude.”
She continued, “But, also, the biggest change — or the thing that I have learned about myself — is understanding and knowing, or taking responsibility, for my own pain and suffering. So, you know, therapy, journaling, spending time with myself, solitude… is not a punishment. I have learned a lot about myself and I’m excited about my new chapter in my life.”

When asked if she’s been dealing with some loneliness or discomfort since filing for divorce after 14 years of marriage to Cory Hardrict, Tia Mowry explained, “Yes. What I’ve realized is loneliness and solitude are two different things. So, yes, of course, there was this moment in time, two years ago, where I just felt really alone.”
She continued to explain, “But, I don’t feel that way anymore because I have me. And that really is the best connection and relationship that you can have, ever — the relationship that you have with yourself.”

When asked if she sees herself in another relationship, Mowry said, “I do now. I believe in love and I believe that there is someone out there that will be aligned with who I am today. And I am just so excited about that because I am taking with me — in a relationship, a new relationship — more wisdom and knowledge. And, really, what love is.”
Tia Mowry continued to explain that she just finished reading a book called ‘All About Love,’ by Bell Hooks and how its helped her understand how to love herself and others, like her children. whom she claim she’s since become a “better mother” for since her divorce
She shared, “It’s crazy how we kind of have this idea of what love is, but again, I feel like I have learned so much. I can’t wait to apply that to my new relationship. But, I am already doing that. I can see myself just even being a better mother and just being present with my friendships.”
