The Grady twins in The Shining are the eerie spirits of two young girls who appear to Danny Torrance during his time at the Overlook Hotel.
In the novel, they are the daughters of Delbert Grady, a previous caretaker of the hotel who, under the influence of the malevolent forces within the Overlook, succumbed to madness and murdered his family with an axe before taking his own life.
In Stanley Kubrick’s 1980 film adaptation, the Grady twins are iconic for their unsettling, simultaneous appearances, beckoning Danny with the chilling invitation to “come play with us.”
