Jax Taylor revealed how Tom Sandoval is supporting him through his divorce from Brittany Cartwright on the latest episode of his and Brittany’s previously shared podcast.
As The Valley cast member hired powerhouse attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan, who represented Kevin Federline, 46, in his divorce and custody battle with Britney Spears, 42, and refiled his response to Brittany’s request for divorce, Jax, 45, took to his podcast to share details about his close-knit friendship with Sandoval, 42, and admit that he doesn’t believe his friend will ever fully recover from “Scandoval.”
“Tom Sandoval has reached out to me more than anybody and I know people are gonna be shocked by that,” Jax told listeners on the October 3 episode of When Reality Hits With Jax and Brittany. “I have been hanging out with him a little bit more lately. I can’t even comprehend what he’s gone through. That ‘Scandoval’ thing was nationwide and regardless of how you feel about Tom Sandoval, you’ve gotta remember what he went through on this.”
Although Jax acknowledged that Sandoval “did a very bad thing” by cheating on his longtime girlfriend Ariana Madix, 39, with their mutual friend, Rachel “Raquel” Leviss, 30, he expressed sympathy for Sandoval.
“The world just came down on him. So I was very, I couldn’t believe it. He actually reached out to me while I was in the facility [seeking mental healthcare], just checking in on me. ‘How are you doing? What’s going on?’” Jax recalled. “I was shocked because I haven’t heard from Tom in a long time, and now I probably talk to Tom three or four times a week.”
After taking a break from their friendship, Jax and Sandoval have reconciled. And now, Sandoval is a frequent visitor to Jax’s Studio City bar, which Jax co-owns with Brittany, 35.
“He comes to the bar. He sings karaoke. He’s on tour right now but I just hung out with him and his mom and his dad. And it was just great to see him,” Jax admitted. “I love Tom, and I will always love him no matter what he does. He’s my best friend, along with Tom Schwartz. They’re both my best friends. People make mistakes in life, but you gotta move on from it, and we all gotta forgive each other at some point.”
Reading a question from a fan, Jax was asked if he believed Sandoval would ever get over “Scandoval.”
” I think he’ll get past it at some point, but no, I don’t think he’ll ever fully recover from it. I think the world just came down on him so hard that I think he’s got PTSD from it. I really, really do,” Jax revealed.
In other Jax Taylor news, as shared in an October 4 report from In Touch Weekly, Jax has fired an amendment to his divorce response, requesting he be granted joint legal custody of his and Brittany’s 3-year-old son, Cruz Michael Cauchi.
As Pump Rules fans may have heard, Jax represented himself when he filed the documents last month, accidentally giving Brittany primary legal and physical custody of their child and suggesting they were never legally married. A short time later, his rep admitted he made “errors” and vowed they would soon be corrected.
Jax also incorrectly said that they had separated in September, as Brittany listed January.
In his amended filing, Jax is requesting joint legal custody and checked the “other” box in regard to physical custody, allowing Brittany to make the final decisions for their child’s care after consulting with him.
Jax doesn’t want either party to be awarded spousal support and hopes to retain all personal assets he accrued before and after their separation.
His attorney wrote, “The exact nature and extent of Respondent’s separate property assets and obligations are currently undetermined. [Jax] will seek leave of court to amend the Response or file appropriate pleadings when said separate property assets and obligations are ascertained.”
The Valley season two is expected to premiere on Bravo sometime later this year or early next year.
