Monica Garcia slammed Lisa Barlow for calling Jen Shah “harmless” unless “you’re elderly,” and Lisa revealed her recent “jail mail” communication and text from the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City alum – who’s in prison after pleading guilty to fraud. In 2021, Jen was accused of running a telemarketing scheme that targeted older adults.
Last season, which was filmed after Jen went to prison, Heather Gay claimed Jen gave her a black eye, and Heather lied about it for a year to protect her. Heather and her co-stars suggested they’d never accept Jen-like behavior again, and they cited this as one of the reasons why they refuse to film with Monica, whose involvement in a ‘troll’-page was exposed in last year’s finale.
On the Scheananigans podcast, Lisa revealed her recent communications with Jen.
“She did tell [Murilo] that when she gets out of prison, she’d like to have a relationship with me and Meredith,” said Lisa. “So that was, like, our jail mail.”
“We did exchange one text on Mother’s Day where she said ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ and I said it back,” she went on. “You know, Jen’s crazy, but she’s harmless at the end of the day, unless you’re elderly.”
Lisa then laughed.
In an Instagram video shared by @therealhousewiveszone, Monica slammed haters for coming at her “whilst someone is laughing and joking about defrauding the elderly.”
“That’s something very real that happened. You can eff all the way off,” said Monica. “It’s very relevant to me because it cost me my job. I [supposedly] reminded [the cast] of all the torture and trauma and harmful things that Jen put them through, and they weren’t gonna stand for it anymore. Then you go on a podcast and say she’s harmless … unless you’re elderly.”
Monica mocked Lisa’s laugh.
“So you, when your whole schtick is I remind you of a very harmful person — and that’s why you don’t want to film with me, that’s why you refuse to film with me, right? To go and say you text that person talking about [being friends] when she’s out of prison. Harmless. I mean, did she assault your friend or not?”
“Was Jen the reason for the black eye? I don’t know. All I know is I had to sit there for three parts of a reunion listening to it and that’s why I shouldn’t come back,” she said with sarcasm. “But she’s harmless. She’s crazy but she’s harmless.”
