Kathy Hilton expressed support for sister Kim Richards amid her reported substance abuse issues. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star also revealed a fashion-week dare concerning Tiffany Haddish, gave an update on her daughter Paris’ kids, and teased the upcoming season.
According to TMZ, Kim stayed at the Hilton Hotel before being placed on psychiatric hold after exhibiting “incoherent” behavior. After her release, her sister Kyle Richards reportedly offered to let her stay in her home. Not long after, an incident took place around the Encino area, and officers came to “keep the peace.” A woman apparently reported that a restraining order had been broken, but the officers determined that no crime had been committed as there was no restraining order on file.
Additionally, TMZ confirmed Kyle was the one who called the cops to get Kim removed from her property as the RHOBH star’s family is cutting contact in the hopes that she’d become sober again.
Speaking with PEOPLE on October 5, Kathy briefly addressed the situation with Kim.
“We love her and we support her, and that’s all I can say,” said Kathy.
When the star was asked if her sister was doing better, Kathy answered, “Yes.”
“I think in the world there’s always hope,” she continued.
In an interview with Extra, Kathy revealed that she dared Tiffany Haddish to walk the runway unofficially at New York Fashion Week.
“Tiffany’s part of our family… Tiffany, Paris, Nicky and I and Rick, we are part of the Monse family, so… all week we’ve been at different events together and we were always joking as girls like, ‘What would somebody have to do to get you to do this or that?’ recalled Kathy. “It was kind of like a game, so then I said, ‘She’s wearing Monse, she’s in that green,’ and there was a lull and they are family so she said, ‘Double dare me, double-dog dare me.’ I said, ‘All right, well, if you’re going to do it, do it now,’ but other people were prompting her, too… People pay a fortune to have a celebrity open or close a show.”
Regarding her daughter Paris’ young children, Kathy said the mother-of-two doesn’t just drop them off at her place to babysit.
“No, I want to,” explained Kathy. “She takes those kids everywhere. I thought I’d be able to go over and sneak them here or there.”
As for the upcoming season of RHOBH, Kathy shared, “There’s a lot of drama, there’s a lot of heart, there’s a lot of soul, there’s a lot of real reality — not manufactured. It never is on that show. I have to be honest with you, so many people think it is, but it isn’t.”
“When we go on these [cast] trips, it’s interesting because I go from room to room and I go and hang out and sit… I love that, to see how everybody’s doing and what they’re feeling. I love it. It’s like I get to be a big fly on the wall. It’s gonna be, I think we’re gonna learn a lot about each and every one.”
“Boz [Bozoma Saint John] our new Housewife is incredible. She’s a superstar, and all the girls really love her. I thought, ‘Wow… she’s a businesswoman and she really feels so comfortable and she’s amazing.’ She fits in.”
