RHOSLC alum Monica Garcia slams Lisa Barlow for claiming that Jen Shah is “harmless” amid her various crimes and bad behavior.
While appearing on Scheana Shay’s Scheananigans podcast, Lisa Barlow shockingly defended her former friend and Real Housewives of Salt Lake City co-star Jen Shah.
As Bravo fans know, Jen Shah was arrested in 2021 as part of a nationwide telemarketing scheme that targeted the elderly. She eventually pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud in connection to telemarketing, and she was given a 6.5-year prison sentence.
Jen is currently serving her prison sentence at a Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas.
Since Jen’s crimes came to light most of the Salt Lake City Housewives have turned on their former friend and co-star. While many members of the RHOSLC cast previously defended Jen’s bad behavior on and off the show, they swiftly changed their tune after learning that Jen was guilty of defrauding innocent people.
In fact, Lisa Barlow previously recalled the trauma of dealing with Jen.
“Until you’ve experienced that or had Jen almost beat you up in a van or be mid-laugh and go to attack you, you don’t know what it’s like,” Lisa previously said. “And in a way, she gave every single one of us a black eye with her actions.”
However, now Lisa has seemingly changed her tune about Jen.
“Do you stay in touch with any of your former castmates? Ever receive like any jail mail?” Scheana Shay asked Lisa on her podcast earlier this month.
“Oh my gosh, jail mail! No, but she did tell [Murilo] that when she gets out of prison, she’d like to have a relationship with me and Meredith [Marks]. So, that was like our jail mail,” Lisa said with a laugh.
“How do you feel about that?” Scheana asked.
“We did exchange one text on Mother’s Day where she said ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ and I said it back,” Lisa explained. “But you know, Jen’s crazy, but she’s harmless at the end of the day unless you’re elderly.”
The Vanderpump Rules OG responded, “Clearly.”
After Lisa’s comments made waves on social media, former Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Monica Garcia called her out on Instagram.
“Someone is laughing and joking about defrauding the elderly. That’s something very real that happened. You can f all the way off. Um, it’s very relevant to me because it cost me my job. I reminded them of all the torture and trauma and harmful things that Jen put them through, and they weren’t gonna stand for it anymore,” Monica ranted.
“Then you go on a podcast and say she’s harmless unless you’re elderly. Right? So when your whole stick is I remind you of a very harmful person, and that’s why you don’t wanna film with me. That’s why you refuse to film with me,” she continued. “You’re trying to say relevant friends when she’s at a prison and she’s harmless. I mean, did she did she assault your friend or not? What was Jen the reason for the black eye, or was was she not?”
“All I know is I had to sit there for 3 parts of a reunion listening to it, and that’s why I shouldn’t come back. But she’s harmless. She’s crazy, but she’s harmless. Are you going to be friends when she’s out of prison?”
