Fans of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills have been concerned for Kim Richards for quite some time now. This fear for her personal safety and sobriety increased after reports came out that she was placed on a 5150 hold. Of course, Kyle Richards has been heavily involved in Kim’s life, but now Kathy Hilton is easing the minds of caring fans with her latest update. Plus, Kathy recently shared the secret behind her decades-long marriage.
In early September, reports surfaced that Kim had become incoherent at a hotel and was asked to leave. The police were then called, and she was later placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold. This came after the family had taken measures to encourage her to get back on the straight and narrow regarding her sobriety.
Recently, Kathy spoke to US Weekly and discussed how things are with Kim. She said, “Kim and I have never had issues or anything. She is going through a tough time, and she’s doing better now.”
As fans of RHOBH are aware, Kathy has had a strained relationship with her sisters over the years. She recently opened up about where they stand. In June of this year, she said, “We’re really good. I just, you know, I call [Kyle] every day [and] she calls me. We text.”
She also said that she and Kim never had any explosive issues. According to Kathy, “We never have an issue. You know people, sometimes people will write, ‘Oh, the three of the sisters,’ [but] Kim and I don’t have any issues.”
However, when asked if she was on “the best” terms with her siblings, Kathy said, “Would say so, for sure.”
She continued, “I follow a lot of different people, spiritual, inspirational. … I’m not taking credit [and] it makes me think and feel good, so I share it. You have no idea of how many people go, ‘You have brightened up my life.’”
Kathy also recently opened up to PEOPLE about the secret to her 43-year-long marriage. She and her husband have their wedding anniversary coming up in November. Regarding what has kept it going strong, Kathy said, “We have not been away from each other for two weeks in 43 years of marriage.”
She then said, “I don’t think you go to bed without saying, ‘I love you,’ and giving each other a kiss and never in a fight or anything. If you have had a disagreement, you always make up before you go to sleep, keep a little mystery, and always keep it exciting and fun.”
Kathy previously said that she and her husband frequent The Cheesecake Factory. According to her, “We go there once a week. All their food is good. Actually, you walk in there, and there are people. We love that! We don’t want to sit in a restaurant with nobody in the room.”
She added, “It’s local, it’s right there and fresh and busy all the time.”
The RHOBH star also shared the advice she gives her children on their marriages.
“I always say, ‘Listen.’I think they get it. They’ve been around their dad and I for a long time, and they really wanted to find somebody that they could have for their rest of their life.”
In the meantime, fans can expect to see Kathy on season 14 of RHOBH as a ‘friend of.’
