Taylor Swift has become the world’s wealthiest female musician with a $1.6 billion net worth, overtaking Rihanna with $1.4 billion, according to Forbes.

On Monday (October 7), American business magazine Forbes updated that 34-year-old singer-songwriter Taylor Swift had a real-time net worth of $1.6 billion, making her the world’s wealthiest female musician and pushing her over Rihanna, who boasts $1.4 billion in net worth.
While T-Swift takes the No.1 spot as the world’s wealthiest female musician, she sits at No. 2,116 richest person in the world as of today (October 7). As a refresher, Taylor Swift became a billionaire in October 2023 following her über successful ‘Eras‘ tour. Thanks to the earnings she racked up from the tour, plus the value of her music catalog, T-Swift officially became a billionaire.

Forbes also reported that Taylor Swift became the first musician to hit billionaire status primarily based on her songs and performances. Her fortune not only includes her massive music catalog worth an estimated $600 million but also features nearly $600 million garnered from music royalties and touring and about $125 million in real estate.
In 2021, Taylor Swift made a great business move when she began releasing re-recorded songs from her first six albums so that she could regain the ownership rights to them. Note: T-Swift first broke into the music industry with her debut single “Tim McGraw” in June 2006, which was followed by her studio album ‘Taylor Swift,’ released under the Big Machine Records imprint in October 2006.

And it’s no surprise that Taylor Swift has amassed tons of earnings with her ‘Eras‘ world tour as demand for the tickets to the U.S. leg caused Ticketmaster to crash within an hour of going on sale on November 15, 2022. The overwhelming incident even prompted members of the U.S. Congress to question the ticketing giant’s hold on concert sales.
Forbes also has Taylor Swift listed at No. 24 on their America’s Self-Made Women list, at No. 2545 on their Billionaires list, at No. 5 on their Power Women list, at No. 25 on their Highest-Paid Entertainers list, at No. 25 on their Celebrity 100 list, and she also made their 30 Under 30 – All-Star Alumni list in 2017.
