Ahead of World Mental Health Day, Selena Gomez emphasized the importance of being mindful about how she spends her time. With a hectic schedule, she prioritizes finding moments to recharge and take care of her mental well-being, recognizing the need to balance her professional commitments with self-care practices.

“I just try to build it around moments I can take a break. If I need to just fly to L.A. really quick, I’ll do that, just because it’s worth it to see my little sister’s soccer game that I got to go to this past weekend,” Gomez told People Magazine. “Or to see my friends and family. They keep me sane.”

The “Only Murders in the Building” actress has successfully preserved Rare Beauty’s independence, attracting only a select group of high-profile investors to her beauty empire. Notable among these investors are Nikki Eslami’s New Theory Ventures and CEO Scott Friedman, who previously headed NYX Cosmetics before selling the brand to L’Oréal for $500 million in 2014.

In 2023, Rare Beauty raised over $7 million, positively impacting more than 1 million individuals across five continents. The brand’s vision is to “create a safe, welcoming space in beauty—and beyond—that supports mental well-being across age, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, cultural background, physical or mental ability, and perspective.”

“Being rare is about being comfortable with yourself,” Gomez said. “I’ve stopped trying to be perfect. I just want to be me.”
