British YouTuber and rapper Yung Filly, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, has been charged with multiple counts of rape and assault. The charges stem from an alleged attack in a Perth hotel room. The 29-year-old social media star, who has 1.9 million YouTube subscribers, is accused of raping and choking a woman following a performance at a local nightclub on September 28th.

Barrientos, who is currently touring Australia, appeared in court on Thursday to face charges including four counts of rape, three counts of assault causing bodily harm, and one count of impeding the woman’s breathing by applying pressure to the neck, as reported by ABC News. Earlier this week, he was arrested in Brisbane and extradited back to Perth on Wednesday to face the allegations.
After being released on bail under strict conditions, he must stay in Western Australia, have no contact with the alleged victim, and refrain from posting about the case on social media. Barrientos, known for his high-energy performances and comedic presence online, started his YouTube career in 2013 and moved into music in 2017.

He gained widespread attention in the United Kingdom’s music scene and won a MOBO Award in 2021 in the Best Media Personality category, celebrating his contributions to “music of Black origin.” The legal proceedings will continue as Barrientos is expected to adhere to his bail conditions while facing trial in the coming months.
If convicted, the British rapper could face significant prison time for the charges brought against him.
