The story refocuses on the tight-knit Pogues as they face personal and external challenges while searching for yet another treasure, this time, it is the infamous Blackbeard’s legendary treasure. The treasure hunt not only drives the plot forward but also reaffirms that the Pogues aren’t just adventurers—they’re a family bound by circumstances and hardship. The theme of “found family” is especially highlighted as the group sticks together despite internal conflicts and outside threats, emphasizing the emotional core of the series.

As someone who did a ghost tour in Beaufort, NC—where Blackbeard’s house still stands—the connection to this local history in the show felt especially meaningful and added an extra layer of excitement for me this season.
