Wedding bells are ringing for Noah Lyles and his longtime girlfriend Junelle Bromfield. The Olympians got engaged over the weekend.

Lyles, the 27-year-old track and field star who struck gold for Team USA in the 100m at the 2024 Paris Olympics, surprised Bromfield by organizing what appeared to be an engagement party, according to an Instagram video shared to his page on Oct. 12.
Dressed sharply in a black blazer and black-and-gold dress pants, the award-winning athlete led Bromfield, 26, into a room adorned with candles and a stunning rose display that read, “Will you marry me?” Gorgeous rose petals surrounded the beautiful neon sign, adding to the romantic affair, as Lyles got down on one knee to propose to the Jamaican sprinter.
Bromfield, who also competed in the Paris Olympics, running for Team Jamaica and winning a bronze medal at the 2020 Olympics, looked both shocked and overjoyed as she accepted Lyles’ proposal. The track and field star wore a sparkling silver dress that beautifully highlighted her rich melanin, paired with shiny silver heels for the special occasion.
After Bromfield said, “I do,” the couple shared a kiss before smiling for the camera. Lyles captioned the sweet clip, “To My Future Wife I Will Love You Forever.” A follow-up post captured the pair celebrating their exciting news with friends and family. The soon-to-be husband and wife thanked their loved ones for being there for their special day.
“Thank you guys for being a part of our moment,” the couple wrote in a joint Instagram post.
Bromfield kept the love flowing on her Instagram page by posting a joyful photo of herself celebrating her engagement, surrounded by close friends and family.
In a subsequent post, the track and field star reflected on her journey with Lyles by sharing a text message from their early days as friends. In the message, she lamented their lack of time together and joked about getting married someday. Bromfield expressed her surprise at how that playful conversation ultimately became a reality.
“We were long-distance best friends. Didn’t think we would ever get to really hang out until we were done with track but just look at US,” she penned.
Fans and friends showered the couple with love on their big milestone.
The comments section went up for Lyles and Bromfield with congratulatory messages and love for the couple’s engagement announcement.

How did Bromfield and Lyles meet?
In a June interview on the Fast Lane Lifestyle podcast, Lyles and Bromfield shared the story of their initial meeting. Lyles mentioned that Bromfield first “slid” into his DMs back in 2017. However, their hectic schedules made it difficult for them to connect in person. When they initially tried dating, the romantic spark just wasn’t there, so they chose to stay friends. A year later, they decided to give love another shot and have been inseparable ever since.
“We’re going to grow old together, and it’s going to be forever,” Lyles told the Fast Lane Lifestyle hosts during their appearance.
The couple made their relationship public on Instagram in December 2022.
