Not everyone is excited about the self-driving vehicles and the human-like robot that Elon Musk debuted at his Tesla event on Thursday, Oct. 10 but one person who has given their public approval is rapper Slim Thug.
Less than a week after the products were unveiled, the Houston native took to the internet to debunk the concerns and criticisms of Musk’s futuristic inventions. To justify his argument, he highlighted the fact that people will no longer have to worry about getting a “dwi” but also suggested that there won’t be much of a need for women once the robots become available.
He first explained his excitement about getting the assistance he needs from robots without having any emotional protests from them. “I’m looking forward to this free time that come with motherf-cking having a robot and being able to live in real life and spend time with family. I’m looking forward to good help, real help. Help without an attitude. Help without feelings. Help without bullsh-t. Help without trying to take you down.”
He later said that women will start to feel threatened by robots and will soon have to find alternative ways to prove their worth to men. “A lot of women are scared too fellas because that’s the little sh-t they do, this robot is finna do that sh-t. They gon’ have to really come with something now.” Acting out a scenario where a woman says she cleaned his house, Thug said his response would be “Awh no boo the robot did that. So now what. I got a robot cook for me and clean and do all that so what I need you for?”
He added: “What you think them girl robots going to be able to do? You know that Elon and them got something good for us. if not Elon, China.”
Fans reacted to Thug’s video on X. One person wrote, “I hope they can push out your lineage and dna.” A second person said, “say u don’t like women without saying u don’t like women…..”
A third person added, “Only a programmed robot can deal with his crazy a–.”
Speaking about the divide between women and men is not a new hobby of Thug’s. He’s been talking about issues regarding Black relationships in particular dating back to at least 2010.
During an interview with Vibe he said, “The way Black people think in general is messed up. Both men and women need to change their way of thinking. It’s hard to trust a Black woman [sometimes] because a lot of Black women’s mind frame is that the man gotta do everything for her? He gotta pay for this, he gotta pay for that, and if it ain’t about money then a lot of them ain’t f-cking with him. If that’s what you’re here for then I don’t want to be with you.”
But later on in the same interview, Thug began to draw comparisons between the experiences of Black men dating white women versus Black women.
“White women treat they man like a king and Black women feel like they ain’t gotta do that sh-t. Black women need to stand by their man more. Don’t always put the pressure of if I’m f-cking with you, you gotta buy me this and that.”
He also said Black men should take accountability as well. “Black men are the ones that motherf-ckers need [but] I think a lot of them need to step it up too,” he said. “A Black man who gets a little bread will go make it rain in the club and be broke the next day or instead of him going to invest in a business he gonna go buy new jewelry or a new car and still live in the hood. Black peoples’ mentality is real f-cked up in general [and] it’s affecting everything.”
Thug, born Stayve Jerome Thomas, has never been married before but he was in an on-and-off relationship with Destiny’s Child member, Letoya Luckett, for about 10 years. Since then, Thug has been with other women which has resulted in him having three children with three different women.
