Tom Holland (Spider-Man: No Way Home, The Crowded Room) is in talks with Oppenheimer director Christopher Nolan to headline his next event film. Nolan already has Matt Damon in a leading role, and aside from the secretive synopsis, all we know of the Universal movie is that the film will have an Imax release on July 17, 2026. The date falls in line with a number of Nolan films that have had similar release windows.
The film is expected to shoot in early 2025.
As with any of his upcoming films, top-tier talent is always running at the opportunity to join a Nolan film, and it sounds like Holland has been high on the director’s list to star for some time. While this will mark the third time Damon and Nolan have worked together, it will mark the first time Holland and the Academy Award-winning director have teamed.
Holland is coming off his acclaimed performance in the London stage production of Romeo & Juliet, which ran this summer for 12 weeks at the Duke of York’s Theatre. He is also coming off the massive box office success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, with a follow-up pic in development and Holland expected to reprise his role as Peter Parker.
