Jenelle Evans isn’t parting ways with Teen Mom just yet.
After a report surfaced claiming the reality star is leaving the MTV franchise, Evans’ rep set the record straight in an exclusive statement to Us Weekly.
“Our lawyer is in communication with the network’s legal. As of right now, nobody has any answers,” August Keen told Us on Tuesday, October 22. “Regardless of what anyone says, there is no bad breakup, no bad blood between Jenelle and MTV and everything is fine. We absolutely are and will continue our relationship with MTV and Teen Mom. Jenelle definitely is not being fired.”
Fans first met Jenelle, 32, when she appeared on 16 and Pregnant in 2009. She later appeared on Teen Mom 2 before departing the show in May 2019 after her estranged husband, David Eason, shot and killed their family dog.
In June 2024, Jenelle began making guest appearances on Teen Mom: The Next Chapter to document her life post-divorce.
While MTV has not officially announced new seasons of the Teen Mom franchise, Jenelle’s team believes the mom of three will be involved.
“The only question at the moment is how many episodes she will be included in,” Keen’s statement continued. “With so many story lines and cast members, the network will need to be extra creative. Jenelle came in mid-season, and a lot was already filmed from other cast members. We are being respectful of everyone’s story line and the hard work that was put in prior to Jenelle’s return.”
US has reached out to MTV for comment.
Teen Mom: The Next Chapter follows a group of moms from Teen Mom OG and Teen Mom 2 as they face the reality of parenthood at different stages.
In a recent interview with Us, Jenelle — who shares son Jace, 15, with ex Andrew Lewis, son Kaiser, 10, with ex Nathan Griffith and daughter Ensley, 7, with Eason — was hopeful fans could see a different side of her.
“I think I deserve a spot on the show because I have been through so much growing up as a kid and I just feel like it was such negative vibes back then that now it’s completely different,” she explained in June. “I feel like I’ve matured and grown up a lot and I’m really excited for people to see that side of me.”
