From producer Michael Mahoney recently hinted that the show’s future on MGM+ is still undecided, raising questions about a possible Season 4. He stated that while the series’ creators have ideas, MGM+ holds the final decision. Fans remain eager for an official announcement as they await the Season 3 finale on November 24.

Michael Mahoney says ‘we cannot tell you’ if From Season 4 will happen

In an interview with CBR, From producer Michael Mahoney addressed the possibility of a Season 4, stating, “Yes, and no, we cannot tell you, because it’s up to powers higher than [us]. You know… That’s above our pay grade.” His response, shared by actors Catalina Sandino Moreno and Elizabeth Saunders, emphasized the decision’s reliance on MGM+ executives rather than the show’s creative team.

While speaking with E-Man’s Movie Reviews, actor Harold Perrineau, who plays Sheriff Boyd Stevens in the show, discussed how From‘s status on MGM+, a newer streaming platform, impacted its renewal process.

Perrineau remarked, “Yeah, I’m gonna tell you, man, I’m really, really grateful, because you’re right. A lot of shows… they don’t get a chance to develop and find an audience,” noting that the series’ placement on MGM+ boosted its opportunity for multiple seasons.

He further explained that had From aired on a larger network, it might have faced stricter renewal requirements. Perrineau stated, “If we were on some other network, we might have had other financial commitments or goals that we had to reach in order to get another season. But being on MGM+, they were like, ‘Well, let’s just keep rolling all these shows.’”

The actor appreciated MGM+’s continued support during setbacks like the 2023 Writers’ Strike. He added, “I’m wildly thankful to MGM+ for rolling with us again, and again, and again.”

Currently, MGM+ has not confirmed a Season 4 for From. However, fans and the cast remain hopeful due to the show’s strong following. As one of MGM+’s few original dramas, From could benefit from the platform’s dedication to its core series. This focus may increase its chances for renewal.
