In a new episode of Tested, Adam Savage visits the Prop Store in London where he shows off some of the original stop-motion creatures created by artist Ray Harryhausen.
The video came with the following note: “Adam gets up close with the iconic stop-motion creatures created and puppeted by Ray Harryhausen for films such as Jason and the Argonauts and The Golden Voyage of Sinbad!
“From the towering Talos to the sword-wielding statue Kali, these lighting test maquettes and preservation castings of the original puppets were all made by Harryhausen himself, showing the legendary effect artist’s design sensibilities and creature aesthetic.”
As a huge fan of Harryhausen’s work, it’s so cool to see that some of these stop-motion puppets still exist and Savage is so lucky to get to see them in person!
