Spoiler Alert: If you haven’t watched the first seven episodes of Agatha All Along, you may not want to read on. Now with that out of the way, let’s get down to business. So far, the series has revealed that the kid introduced as “teen” (Joe Locke) is actually Wanda Maximoff’s son Billy, aka Wiccan, and in episode 7 we found out that Aubrey Plaza’s Rio Vidal is actually Death.
With that confirmed, fans have questioned if we will discover a tie to Thanos in this series, as Death was the subject of Thanos’s admiration in the comics.
Creator of the series, as well as WandaVision, Jac Schaeffer, recently opened up to Inverse about the character and her ties to Thanos, stating:
“Thanos is not in my show, so I can’t speak to any Thanos connections. Thanos stans out there, I have no answers for you.”
While you can cross off Thanos in your finale cameo prediction list, Death won’t remain a complete mystery in the last two episodes. We’ll learn a little bit more about her then, as Schaeffer teased:
“There will be a little bit more illuminating about our version of Death, but what I will say is we generally leave some of it to interpretation in this show. But you’ll get a little bit more understanding of how she operates in the last two episodes.”
Will Rio come back for more adventures? Schaeffer’s answer is simple: “As a fan? I hope so.”
While we didn’t hear of her ties to Thanos in this series so far, we did get several nods to the fact that she used to be in relationship with Agatha, so it turns out that Death is just a heartbreaker of sorts.
Stay tuned for more MCU news, and watch the final two episodes of Agatha All Along this Wednesday night on Disney+.
