It looks like Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum will not be saying “I Do” after all.
Sources tell People that the two actors have called off their engagement and ended their relationship after three years of dating.
Fans reacted to the news on Instagram with mixed emotions of surprise, disappointment, and nonchalance.
One person commented, “WOAH WAIT!!!!! No!! I was not expecting this! I WAS ROOTING FOR THEM!!!!”
“Marriage and engagements are a joke in hollyweird,” said another.
A third person said they didn’t even have much faith that the relationship would make it in the first place. “I never thought that they would last. I was suprised with their engagement. I think that it is good they realized now that a future together is not pragmatic. Both great people, just not for each other.”
It’s reported that the two’s romance started in 2021 on the set of Kravitz’s directorial debut film Blink Twice, which Tatum stars in. About a year ago, Tatum decided he was ready to take the next step with Kravitz, popping the question to the Batman star.
It’s not clear what may have occurred between the two to cause the end of their relationship but, likely, they won’t mention much about it since that is how they’ve chosen to navigate much of their relationship – outside of the rare occasions that they posted one another or spoke about each other in interviews.
Blink Twice was released in theaters on August 23, and about two months before that, Tatum explained how working on the movie with his fiancée strengthened their relationship.
“Working with your partner truly is — you know, I know a lot of people are afraid of it — it was the thing that cemented us in a way. We started, you know, kind of grew a little bit right before we started filming, and then it’s like, ‘Okay, we’re gonna go do this.’ It just brought us together.”
As it turns out, Tatum and Kravitz will be brought together again in the near future, at least as work buddies. Just about two hours before the news broke of their split, it was announced that the two have signed up to star in a new project together called Alpha Gang which is a comedy film about an alien invasion.
Kravitz and Tatum will work alongside actors like Dave Bautista, Steven Yeun, Léa Seydoux, and Riley Keough and they’re projected to begin filming in Spring of 2025.
