On Wednesday, tensions were high at a South Carolina polling station when a man was asked to remove his “Let’s Go Brandon” hat before casting his vote. The phrase is another way of saying “F—k Joe Biden,” leading to an altercation at the old Orangeburg County Library polling site.

The physical altercation was captured on video when poll workers informed the man that, under state law, he couldn’t wear the political camo hat inside the polling station. According to the New York Post, things escalated as he began cursing at the staff, demanding to vote. He shouted, “You f—king b****!”, to a female poll worker, who along with her colleagues, attempted to calm him down. Despite their efforts, the man continued to be aggressive and threw his hat at the next person in line.
The situation escalated when the man pointed at another female poll worker, leading her to retaliate by hitting him. Poll workers tried to separate them but the altercation continued, with the man following her until she left the area. Although the “Let’s Go Brandon” phrase does not directly mention any candidate, it is associated with opposition to President Joe Biden.

South Carolina law says that “the poll manager shall use every reasonable means to keep the area within five hundred feet of any such entrance clear of political literature and displays.”
Authorities are investigating the incident and it was confirmed with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division. However, there were no further details about the individuals who were involved in the altercation. Early voting began in South Carolina on Oct.21 and ends on Nov. 2.
