Kamala Harris Tells Americans To ‘Listen To J. Lo’ And Vote

At a rally in Las Vegas this week, Vice President Kamala Harris encouraged Americans to make their voices heard in the upcoming election, referencing a powerful message from superstar Jennifer Lopez.

On Thursday, October 31, the “On The Floor” singer delivered a passionate endorsement for Kamala Harris at a Las Vegas rally, criticizing Donald Trump for hosting an event at Madison Square Garden earlier in the week, where speakers made racist jokes and sexist remarks.

After the rally, Kamala Harris and Jennifer Lopez joined forces to record a video encouraging people to participate in the voting process.

In her speech at the rally, Lopez encouraged voters to rally behind Harris, emphasizing that Harris’s policies are focused on improving the quality of life for all citizens.

“Elections are about choosing leaders to support them – not one that stands in the way,” Lopez said at the Nevada rally. “It’s about helping you get ahead. It’s about you and you and you and you and you. It’s about us. All of us. No matter what we look like, who we love or who we worship, or where we’re from.”

The singer added, “I like Hollywood endings. And I like when the good guy, or in this case, the good girl, wins. And with an understanding of our past and a faith in our future, I will be casting my ballot for Kamala Harris for president of the United States.”

With the election season heating up, Kamala Harris and Jennifer Lopez decided to take to social media to share a video, which served as a reminder of the significance of every individual’s contribution to shaping the country’s future.

“I’m so excited to be here in Nevada campaigning with VP Kamala Harris,” J. Lo said in the video. “Our very freedoms are on the line in this election, so come on, everybody. Let’s get loud.”

“Listen to J. Lo,” Harris captioned the Instagram video. “Your vote is your voice.”

During the New York rally, Hinchcliffe described Puerto Rico as a floating island of garbage, a statement that sparked widespread criticism. Lopez responded, calling the comment “very offensive” and noting that such remarks would be distasteful to people everywhere.

“It wasn’t just Puerto Ricans who were offended that day; it was every Latino in this country,” Lopez said of the remark at the rally. “It was humanity and anyone of decent character.”

“I am Puerto Rican,” she added. “And yes, I was born here, and we are Americans. You can’t even spell American without Rican.”

“I’m a lover. I am not a fighter. I am not here to trash anyone or bring them down,” she later clarified. “I know what that can feel like, and I wouldn’t do it to my worst enemy, or even when facing the biggest adversary I think America has internally ever had. But over Kamala Harris’ entire career, she has proven to us who she is.”

Also, during her rally speech, J. Lo reflected on her early days in television and film.

“When I started in TV and film, I could get roles playing the maid or the loud-mouth Latina, but I knew I have more to offer,” Lopez reflected. “And I think there are a lot of people in this country who feel the same way, who know that they are capable of more, and we all just want a chance to prove it.”

She continued, “And elections are about choosing leaders who support that, not one who stands in the way.”

During her 15-minute speech, Lopez grew emotional, telling the crowd, “We should be emotional. We should be upset. We should be scared and outraged. We should — our pain matters.”

“We matter. You matter,” she continued. “Your voice and, your vote matters.”
