Ray J is opening up about his run-in with Diddy’s sons at a Halloween party and admitted that while he played a part in escalating the situation, he felt the need to defend himself.
As BOSSIP reported multiple sources witnessed Diddy’s sons, Justin, Christian, and Quincy, surround Ray J at an L.A. Halloween party. He later confirmed an altercation occurred while speaking with Wack 100 on a recent livestream, but Brandy‘s brother was vague about what went down,
Later, Ray J joined an Instagram Live session with Nicki Minaj and gave details about his interaction with Diddy’s sons.
“No, we didn’t have a fight. We had a big argument right outside the club,” said Ray J.
As for who started the big argument, the father of two admitted that he may have been the culprit.
“This time, I think I got loud and got aggressive,” he told Nicki Minaj. “But it was the third time this happened, so I felt like I needed to stand up for myself.”
“Even though I was talking s*** and we were having a lot of crazy words, I was walking that way to avoid the issue. So that’s what happened and it’s unfortunate,” he shared.
The Love & Hip Hop alum also revealed that Chris Brown was sitting in his car nearby when the Combs boys approached him and he was able to intervene to prevent a bigger scene.
“I tried to talk some sense into what happened, luckily, the homie Chris was there,” said Ray J.
Ultimately, Ray J said that after things calmed down, he talked to Diddy’s sons for 35 minutes, and they resolved their issues.
What Did Ray J Do To Upset Diddy’s Sons?
During the Instagram Live with Nicki Minaj, Ray J said that the argument occurred because of comments he previously made in an interview.
You may recall that in late September, Ray J appeared on NewsNation and discussed Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal woes.
The disgraced music mogul is currently jailed and awaiting trial for sex trafficking and racketeering charges and his sons have fiercely defended him. That’s clearly why Ray J’s NewsNation comments struck a nerve.
“We’ve all been around him, at least in my era, and have looked up to him,” he said. “And this situation is super unfortunate, but it’s important to learn a lesson right right now and ensure the next generation understands how to move differently with transparency and integrity.
“We’ve never seen the stuff that’s being said and the stuff that people are finding out, like, I’ve never been in rooms that people are talking about, and I never knew they existed,” he explained. “And a lot of people in the industry can agree with me on that sense.”
“I’ve been around long enough to know that when there’s smoke, you always find fire,” he added.
