Russell Crowe is set to return to the Roman Empire for a new film project in development titled The Last Druid. Crowe previously starred in the Roman Empire set film Gladiator and with this new project, he will once again “stir the warrior within.”
The movie will tell the story of a “Roman Emperor who discovers a secluded Druid stronghold in the mountains of Caledonia. A peaceful Celtic elder (Crowe) must take up arms to protect his family and people from annihilation. Additional casting is underway.”
Will Eubank (Underwater, The Signal) is set to direct the film from a script he wrote with Phil Gawthorne. This seems like it will be another great role of Crowe to take on.
Crowe will next be seen in Sony’s Kraven the Hunter and the historical drama Nuremberg.
