Beloved Snake Horror Movie Is Leaving Netflix Very Soon

The Mass Effect TV show has officially found a writer. Variety reports Daniel Casey has been tapped to pen the series as well as executive produce.

What do we know about the Mass Effect TV show?

Casey is best known for being the writer of the 2018 film Kin, as well as 2021’s F9, the ninth installment in the Fast & Furious franchise. Casey was also an uncredited writer on the 2016 sci-fi horror thriller 10 Cloverfield Lane. Alongside Casey, Karim Zreik, Ari Arad, and Michael Gamble will also be attached as executive producers on the plot.

Currently, it’s unknown exactly what the Mass Effect TV show will be about, as plot details are being kept under wraps as of now. The Mass Effect franchise began in 2007 and spans across four video games, with the first three forming a trilogy that is highly regarded as one of the best of all time. It follows the story of Commander Shepard, who attempts to save the Milky Way galaxy from a race of hibernating machines known as the Reapers.

Development of a Mass Effect TV show has been discussed since 2021, when Henry Cavill shared a photo of himself on the set of Netflix’s The Witcher (which he starred in at the time), reading a mysterious script that featured blurred words.

Users were able to utilize deblurring tools to look at the paper in foreground, which revealed a handful of Mass Effect terms like “Tali’Zorah,” “Cerberus,” and “Geth,” leading many to believe he was working on a project.

Cavill would go on to say that he would be interested to work on the project, although it’s unclear whether or not Cavill was simply teasing fans, or if the project at that time is even still in the works.
