Bronwyn Newport looked back on her fight with Lisa Barlow over her call to Heather Gay in Palm Springs after Wednesday’s episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City saw them at odds.

As she opened up about the unseen moments that led up to their dispute and accused Lisa, 49, of “antagonizing” her with the FaceTime call to their castmate, Bronwyn, 39, recalled Lisa ghosting her ahead of the trip as Lisa denied being a “sh*tty friend” and suspected Bronwyn had been negatively influenced by Whitney Rose, 38, and Angie Katsanevas, 50.

“Lisa’s not neutral. Lisa’s not explaining my point of view. She is firmly here to wave the Heather flag. Before she got on the plane this was happening,” Bronwyn revealed on the November 6 episode of the RHOSLC: After Show.

According to Bronwyn, she called Lisa before the getaway.

“I really said, ‘Are you gonna be okay with you coming? Are [John Barlow] and [Justin Rose] going to be fine?’ I really gassed Lisa up, and then there was like a weird ghosty moment of, she wouldn’t respond to texts or calls. And I did not know if she was coming,” Bronwyn recalled as Whitney said that was the “first sign of war.”

“So her and Meredith sit on the plane, and they tell me over and over that I’m misunderstanding Heather and that they feel sorry she’s not here, and all these things,” Bronwyn continued. “And I’m like, ‘Okay? There’s no other venue you guys could talk about this in other than to me?’ Like, I don’t want Heather here, and for good reason. I knew where Lisa’s alliance was and where her loyalty was, but I was very shocked and very angry that she FaceTimed Heather.”

Although Lisa insisted on the episode that she simply missed Heather and believed the other ladies felt the same, Bronwyn suspected the call was a personal attack.

“That didn’t feel like supporting Heather or feeling sorry for my friend that’s not on this trip, that felt like antagonizing me, just to make me mad. And it did!” she explained.

In her own RHOSLC: After Show segment, Lisa suggested that Bronwyn was upset with her for not being angry at Heather.

“I don’t need to be upset with Heather. I can still be a good friend to you and be good with Heather. I’m not a sh*tty friend and I’m like, ‘You are upset I’m not thinking the same way you are,’” she stated. “I’m like, ‘We’re all friends with Heather, and from what I understood, you wanted Heather on this trip, so I don’t know why you’re upset that I’m calling her.”

Still, Lisa admitted that “in hindsight,” it may have been a better idea for her to have called Heather “privately.”

Lisa went on to signal Bronwyn’s friendship with Whitney and Angie.

“I think it’s easy for her to start saying all these bullsh*t things about me … I think they’re committed to telling everyone I’m a bad friend. They’re trying to poison the well. And I don’t get friends like that. I don’t start being friends with someone because of my disdain for somebody else,” she reasoned.

Speaking of her own thoughts on friendship, Bronwyn pointed out that Lisa never actually asked her about the conversation she and Heather had at her house, which led to her leaving Heather out of the trip.

“Lisa has still yet to ask me what happened at my house. But she not only heard Heather’s side but continued to parrot it for everybody else to hear. It just felt like a very odd choice,” Bronwyn stated. “If my friends are fighting, I either want them to fix it or I stay out of it. But I don’t choose one side without even knowing the other. So sometimes things hurt your feelings because they’re true and they need to inspire change. And sometimes they’re just malicious. And that was malicious to call Heather.”

As for how Heather felt about the call, she said she was happy to hear from Lisa.

“I wanted an update on what was happening in Palm Springs, but I had too much pride to text anybody or be like, ‘What’s happening?’ So when Lisa called, I was happy,” she stated. “I love the way our friendship is right now.”

She then said she was offended by Bronwyn’s reaction to Lisa’s call.

“It’s offensive to me that just you guys being friends with me in front of Bronwyn or behind her back is offensive in any way. How about, Bronwyn, these are my friends much more than they’re your friends, so you should give them a little bit of grace if they want to reach out. It’s a FaceTime,” she noted. “They didn’t invite me and have me show up and make my own T-shirt and participate in all the activities … I felt bad that I wasn’t included and there’s a part of me that just was like, they’re having a great time without me. They could just go on their merry way and that would be devastating to me. And so to be remembered and to have her reach out just made me feel good, you know, that I wasn’t forgotten.”

Equally as excited was Meredith Marks, 52, who said, “I was thrilled to see that, but Bronwyn was not.” She then admitted that Lisa’s call may not have happened at the best time.

“It’s not abnormal to want to check in on your friend, but do I think you need to throw it in her face? No,” she stated.

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season five airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
