Ted Cruz’s 16-year-old daughter, Caroline, is going viral for her surprising reaction to her father’s praise for President-elect Donald Trump.
In case you missed it: On Election Day, November 5th, the veteran lawmaker secured a third consecutive term after facing a tough challenge from Democratic Rep. Colin Allred. Following his victory, Cruz delivered a speech in Houston where he expressed his hope and prayers for Donald Trump’s re-election.
While Cruz’s comments were met with applause from the crowd, they also drew a look of disgust from Caroline, who told the crowd and her mother Heidi, “don’t clap for that.”
As the clip circulated on social media, many people quickly shared their thoughts. One person remarked, “She might actually break the generational curse.” Another added, “This family should never clap after what Trump said about them. At least the daughter knows some self-respect.” A third commenter added, “we Stan her!”
On Election Night, Ted Cruz’s daughter cringed when he brought up Trump—and then leaned over to her mom, whispering, “Don’t clap for that.”
Can you blame her? In 2016, Trump went after her mom, Heidi Cruz, repeatedly mocking her appearance. pic.twitter.com/L1jZlYJn8M

This isn’t the first time Caroline has voiced her disagreement with her father. Approximately two years ago, she took to TikTok to share that she often disagreed with his opinions. At that time, she stated, “A lot of people judge me based upon him at first glance, but I really disagree with most of his views.”
As Cruz returns to his government seat, Donald Trump will too as he officially won the presidential election, defeating Kamala Harris.
In his victory speech, Trump declared, “We’re going to help our country heal. We have a country that needs help, and it needs help very badly. We’re going to fix our borders. We’re going to fix everything about our country, and we’ve made history for a reason tonight. And the reason is going to be just that. We overcame obstacles that nobody thought possible.”
Trump further asserted that he will lead the “golden age of America” upon his inauguration.
