Star Trek veteran Jeri Ryan recently reveald that she had the opportunity to have her own Star Trek series that would’ve focused on her character Seven of Nine.

The actress shared the news during a panel Spacecon in San Antonio, Texas, where she said that there was even a formal pitch that was presented to her.

The actress expalined: “There has been talk. And there was an idea that was actually pitched to me after Picard ended, which was not the Legacy show that I know the fans are asking for, that I want to do.

“But it just wasn’t me… It didn’t feel like the right kind of thing… But there has been talk. And if there is one thing I have learned with this franchise it is: never say never. You never know.”

I would’ve been up for a Seven of Nine series! It’s a shame that we won’t see the show come to fruition. But, there was obviously something about it that just didn’t click with her for some reason.

Seven of Nine is a complex and iconic character in the Star Trek franchise. She was first introduced in Star Trek: Voyager. Originally named Annika Hansen, she was assimilated by the Borg as a child and became a Borg drone, designated “Seven of Nine, Tertiary Adjunct of Unimatrix Zero One.”

After her rescue by the crew of the USS Voyager, Captain Janeway helps her regain her individuality and humanity, though Seven retains her Borg implants and much of her mechanical precision. This unique background makes her an invaluable crew member, particularly as she brings the logical ruthlessness of the Borg alongside the compassion she learns from her human crewmates.

Seven’s journey centers around her struggle to reconcile her Borg identity with her rediscovered humanity, often challenging her to learn the nuances of emotion, individuality, and autonomy.

She later returns as a recurring character in Star Trek: Picard, where she embraces her role as a defender of those who cannot protect themselves, having forged a hybrid identity that reflects both her Borg and human experiences.

Would you like to see a Seven of Nine spinoff series?
