Bhad Bhabie’s Mom On Claims That Cancer Diagnosis Is A Hoax

Barbara Bregoli, the mother of rapper Bhad Bhabie, has confirmed her daughter’s cancer diagnosis amid swirling rumors that it might be a hoax.

The 21-year-old rapper, born Danielle Bregoli, hinted at her health struggle just hours before her mother’s statement. Recently, Bhad Bhabie has faced a wave of online criticism, with many commenting on her appearance and expressing concern over her weight, with some alleging she looked too thin.

Bhad Bhabie is also a new mother, as she welcomed her first child, daughter Kali Love, eight months ago in March.

In a statement addressing the speculation, Bregoli assured fans that the diagnosis is real, defending her daughter against accusations that she is “faking” her illness.

“How dare you?” Bregoli said in an Instagram video shared on Friday, November 8. “[To say] my daughter would lie about something like that?”

She added, “I’ve had [breast cancer] twice. How dare you say my daughter’s faking this?”

After weeks of speculation, rapper Bhad Bhabie finally addressed the reason behind her noticeable weight loss—and it’s not what fans expected. Concerns began to circulate last month when she appeared with a slimmer figure, prompting fans to theorize about the drastic change.

Some blamed her baby’s father, Le Vaughn, while others assumed she was following the latest “skinny beauty” trend.

“What happened to her? I don’t know abt her and I know her recently please someone explain to me,” one social media user wrote last month.

“I feel so bad you were looking so good now you seem really off and I’m worried,” another expressed.

She revealed that her weight loss is a side effect of cancer medication she has been taking, though she chose not to disclose further details about her diagnosis.

“I’m sorry my cancer medicine made me loose [sic] weight,” Bhabie wrote on her Instagram Stories on Thursday, November 7. “I’m slowly gaining back. So, stop running [with] the worst narratives.”

Shortly after Bregoli shared her message on her Instagram Stories, Perez Hilton reposted it on his social media, adding his own commentary. “I don’t know if she’s lying,” Hilton claimed, per The Independent. “I’m not claiming she’s lying. I’m just… knowing how these types of people operate, I wouldn’t put it past her to do something like this for attention.”

After seeing Hilton’s claim, Barbara shared a heated video on her social media page on November 8. “I’m pretty heated right now. And I’m pretty heated at Mario, aka Perez Hilton for going on YouTube and talking about my daughter going on her Instagram story and talking about her having cancer,” she said. “How dare you? I pray to god that one of your children never gets cancer.”

“I’ve had it twice. How dare you say my daughter’s faking this, you vile piece of no good sh-t say my daughter will lie about something like that.”

Bhad Bhabie—who shot to internet fame after her viral 2016 appearance on “Dr. Phil,” where she famously coined the phrase, “Cash me outside, how ’bout that?”—has since transformed her notoriety into a successful music and modeling career.

“I’ve always loved music. When I first started, I didn’t really have the confidence and didn’t think I could actually do it,” Bhabie told Basic magazine in 2023. “I was working with a lot of cowriters, but now, I do most of the writing by myself. I’ve definitely evolved. I’ve always loved music and rapping, so making it a profession came naturally to me.”

“I’m really excited about my new music and the EP,” she added. “The single is definitely all me and we had so much fun filming the music video. I’ve made a lot of my own music before, but it was mostly about what the label wanted. When you’re signed, they’re just thinking of hits and marketing, especially because I was so young. I didn’t have a lot of choices or a strong voice. But I’m older now. I understand the game now. I will tell producers and music executives which songs I want and how I want them to sound.”
