“Careful who you assemble.”
Marvel debuted a cool extended action-packed trailer for Thunderbolts* at D23 Brazil today, and now that trailer is online for you to watch and enjoy! This looks like it’s going to be a great Marvel movie!
The trailer is almost four minutes long and it starts off with an action-packed clip from the film that sees the team in a car chase as they are being pursued by the military and The Winter Solider.
the brief plot summary reads: “A world without Avengers doesn’t mean there’s not a group of superheroes. There is a group and they’re called the Thunderbolts. A group of supervillains from the MCU are recruited to go on missions for the government.”
Julia Louis-Dreyfus reprises her role as CIA director Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine in Thunderbolts*. She made her debut in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney+ when she talked John Walker (Wyatt Russell) into dropping the Captain America persona in favor of U.S. Agent.
De Fontaine later showed up in the post-credit scene in Black Widow when she assigned Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) to eliminate Clint Barton/Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner).
Her most recent appearance was in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and there it revealed she was director of the CIA.
The cast of Thunderbolts* also includes Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Lewis Pullman as The Sentry, and Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster.
The film is being directed by Jake Schreier (Paper Towns, Kidding) and was written by Eric Pearson (Thor: Ragnarok, Black Widow) and Kurt Busiek.
Thunderbolts* is currently set to be released in theaters on May 2, 2025. You can also check out a new poster below.
