Ahead of their blockbuster Netflix fight, Mike Tyson is warning Jake Paul to take it seriously because he’s bringing “the devil” to the ring.
On November 15, Netflix will attempt to draw the world to its streaming service for the first live-streamed sporting event. The event will feature Mike Tyson fighting YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul. While it sounds insane to some people, this should be a promising event.
On the undercard, Katie Taylor will face Amanda Serrano for the undisputed lightweight title, and Mario Barrios will face Abel Ramos for the WBC welterweight title.
While the undercard is for the boxing purist, Netflix has its money on the main event. Both Jake Paul and Mike Tyson are taking things serious and preparing for battle. Some have questioned Tyson’s age, but he seems to be in the best shape of his life.
According to ESPN, Mike Tyson is so ready to get in the ring that he’s warning Jake Paul that he BETTER be ready to rumble.
“I’m bringing the devil himself [to the ring],” Tyson said during Tuesday’s open workout, just days ahead of his fight with Paul.
Tyson admits he has made a friendship with Jake, but all bets are off once that bell rings and it’s time to compete.
“There are no feelings attached,” Tyson said. “My own mother should be very careful if she has to get in the ring with me. When it’s over, it’s over. But while the process is going on, my intention is to hurt him. I hope he has the same intentions, or he is in trouble.”
Jake Paul has often faced criticism for only fighting retired boxers like Nate Robinson and washed-up UFC fighters like Tyron Woodley. However, without skill, he wouldn’t last in the ring with some of his past opponents and come out victorious. We probably won’t be able to gauge where we should rank his fight with Mike Tyson, but everyone agrees that it’s dangerous.
Mike Tyson still packs a powerful punch and if it lands, it will damage you.
Best wishes to Jake Paul with this one.
