Erika Jayne opened up about navigating the feud between Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley during an interview on Tuesday.
While also discussing the newbies of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, including Bozoma Saint John, 47, and “friend” Jennifer Tilly, 66, and looking back at her past co-stars, including Denise Richards, 53, Erika, 53, spoke of being in the middle of Kyle, 55, and Dorit, 48. She also looked back on her BravoCon prediction regarding Dorit’s split from Paul “PK” Kemsley, 57.
“I knew going into this that eventually it was going to turn on me,” Erika said on the November 12 episode of E! News after being asked about Kyle and Dorit. “Eventually, one of them was going to get mad at me, so I ducked out right at the time and said, ‘You two need to talk because I can only take this so far, but you two really need to talk and work it out.’”
As for where Kyle and Dorit stand today, Erika said she believes they’re “in a better place today than they were when [they] started” filming season 14.
Moving on to Dorit’s separation from PK, Erika denied having insider information ahead of BravoCon.
“I was asked a shady question I did not want to answer. I was getting booed, and then I walked out there and gave a shady answer that just so happened to be true. I cannot take credit for it at all, and I take no joy in being [right],” she stated. “It’s one of these things that happens.”
In an upcoming episode of RHOBH, Erika will be seen tearing up during a conversation with Dorit about her breakup. But she was not crying out of guilt about her BravoCon comment.
“I don’t feel guilty at all,” Erika clarified. “[I was upset because] I know what she’s about to go through because I went through it. And so it was really me just saying, ‘I feel for anyone that goes through a breakup publicly.’ We’ve watched [Kyle] and now we have to watch another one. It’s very hard.”
Then, while playing a game of rapid-fire questions, Erika described Bozoma as “powerful,” said Kathy Hilton, 65, was the better “friend” of season 14, and said she admired that Sutton Stracke, 53, is “unpredictable.”
She also said she wished she was closer to Garcelle Beauvais, 57, as she looked back on their kiss — or tried to.
“I was really drunk. I don’t really remember,” she admitted.
Then, after noting that she was “having fun” in her love life, Erika said she misses Lisa Rinna, 60, the most out of her former castmates, and she misses Denise the least.
“I think it’s self-explanatory. Roll that back. Dinner party. We’re high and I’m like, ‘Is this real?’” she recalled.
Also during the interview, Erika clapped back at claims of photoshopping an image of herself with a RHOBH billboard on Sunset Boulevard.
“It’s [Mikey Minden]. This is a hill and the billboard is huge so Mikey got, basically, in the street, and he was like, ‘Stand up higher.’ It’s just a low angle,” she explained.
Erika then noted how she’s changed since joining the show for season six in 2015.
“I’ve grown a lot, and I’ve grown through a lot of pain, and I’ve grown through a lot of change. It would have been easier to run away, and that was certainly an option, but I chose to stick it out,” she declared.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 14 premieres Tuesday, November 19, at 8/7c on Bravo.
